December 2019 we founded the Paatu - Palumeu foundation. How happy we were with this first step towards a sustainable future for the residents of Palumeu. Unfortunately by Covid-19 all projects have been canceled. Besides postponing the projects, the villagers were faced with the loss of income from ecotourism, no education but worst of all, the failure of the cassava harvest. The residents of Palumeu are flexible and strong and managed to survive by hunting and fishing. In addition, we have sent food packages.
We are motivated to implement the postponed projects; solar energy, food farm project, education. Sustainable drinking water supply is also high on the agenda. In 2010, the United Nations recognized the right to water and sanitation in a resolution.🌎 🌳🌱🌿🐛💚

We therefore want to ensure that these rights will finally be realized in 2021.
